Mark Lestina – Owner and President
More than 20 years in the waste and recycling industry showed Mark the challenges, cost structures and pitfalls of efficient waste removal services. Mark saw the need to help small to medium sized businesses save money on waste and recycling expenses.
Mark created Wastemaster in 2013 to manage waste, service and recycling at large cost reductions that smaller businesses couldn’t achieve. The business has since expanded to include self-managed condominium associations, property managers and other manufacturing facilities.
Earlier in his career, Mark served as President, healthcare Division at Waste Link, Corp., a leader in the Environmental Consulting industry. While at Waste Link, Mark worked with Healthcare clients interested in reducing waste costs, improving recycling and increasing operational efficiencies, while helping them become more environmentally friendly.
Mark previously worked at Stericycle, Inc. and BioSystems (a Sharps management division of Stericycle). His work with both companies focused on medical waste minimization and regulatory compliance.
Prior to his work in the medical waste industry, Mark worked for Clean Harbors Environmental Services, a hazardous waste management company in a number of sales and marketing capacities.
Mark received a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from Indiana University (1993) and a M.S. in Environmental Management from Illinois Institute of Technology (2000).
